Thom Pernice, of Scarsdale, NY, created this website, as a work of art. He organized a community around these musicians and their music. In 2020 and beyond they commissioned a new version in WordPress. When we enjoy all that this website holds and does, we remember and enjoy this marvelous human.
THOMAS PERNICE of Goldens Bridge, New York, formerly of Scarsdale and Peekskill, passed away peacefully July 2, 2026, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of creativity, friendship and service to the arts. Born on May 22, 1947, in Bronxville, New York, he was pre-deceased by his beloved parents Mary and Thomas Pernice and wife Michele.
A gifted artist, filmmaker, photographer, musician, and producer, Thom devoted his life to creative expression. He studied photolithography at the School of Fine Arts in Boston and continued his artistic education with Knox Martin and Buckminster Fuller. After an early career as a working rock musician, he spent more than 35 years producing award winning video, documentary, and commercial work for major clients while also contributing to television news, photography and community arts programs.
Even in retirement, Thom never stopped creating. He continued exploring photography, music and digital media, always driven by curiosity and imagination. One of his proudest accomplishments was creating Scarsdale Rocks, a website dedicated to preserving the history, people, and stories of the community he loved – an enduring legacy for future generations. Thom also gave generously of his time , serving in leadership and advisory roles with several Hudson Valley arts organizations.
Above all Thom treasured his friendships. He will be remembered for his kindness, quiet wit, generosity and genuine interest in others. He is survived by many devoted friends, especially his dear friend, Ursula Martin, whose steadfast companionship enriched his life. He holds dear to him Lynda Martin- Francese and Andrea Martin. He also leaves many beloved cousins, and countless friends who will remember him with affection.
